Time to revisit Playtech slots.

A turnaround for Playtech slots?

The Mummy slot leads the way

I was recently asked why I don’t review Playtech slots on SlotMad.
The truth is when I started the blog Playtech slots, and casinos were too poor to bother with.
It’s been a few years now so I decided to give them another look.
The best casino that has Playtech in their portfolio is BoylesCasino so that’s where I’ll base the review.

Boyles will give you a 100% bonus on your first transfer into their Playtech Casino (they also have Net Ent slots but they are under the Games section and the bonuses aren’t cross compatible).

You will then get 50% on your second deposit and 110% on your third.
Nice for getting some added playtime although the 40x WR is standard.

The Mummy slot

Based on the film of the same name this shows just how far Playtech slots have come.
The base game is decent enough characters from the film pay the highest and there are plenty of Wild symbols to shake thing sup.
The real gem here lies in the bonus games and free spins bonus

The scatters reward you with free spins, at first glance it seems to be pretty tight with only 5 freespins but there is intriguingly a Super Spin too.
As your 5 normal free spins progress a column on the left will record all of the wild symbols occurring during those free spins.
The Super Spin will randomly distribute those wilds for the final spin, this can genuinely result in some Super spins but on occasion can give very little.

On a 1.25 euro bet I won as much as 55 euros and as little as 5.10 in the bonus round.
There is another bonus game which is a standard choose a box win a prize, keep choosing until you hit the collect box game.
Nothing to get too excited about and it seems to pay about 15 – 25 times your bet generally.
The good thing about this bonus game is it is triggered randomly and as well as the cash prize it gives you a new progressive bonus game symbol…

What really makes this game stand out is the progressive bonus games.
On the left you’ll see a column of symbols. Initially you’ll only have the Scorpion Scatters activated but as you progress you’ll unlock more and more bonus features.
The bonuses are randomly triggered and as you unlock a new one you are free to choose from an older one if you prefer it.

Scorpion Scatter:
Each character symbol of Scorpion acts as a scatter
Expanding Mummy
The Mummy Wild symbols expand to fill the reel
Bonus features The Mummy SlotScarab Attack
Each Wild in the middle row will spawn two more random wilds around the reels
Collapsing reels
Standard avalanche reels (free falls if you’re a netEnt player)
Mummy Power
This is the best one, each wild multiplies your win by 3, then 6, then 9 times.
Mummy Respin
Each wild is held and the reels respin until it forms part of a winning combination.

The Mummy has made me look at Playtech again and I’ll be reviewing their slots here alongside my usual NetEnt, Betsoft and Microgaming slots from now on.

I’d recommend you also try John Wayne or The Sopranos.
