Dragon’s Fire MegaWays – Red Tiger Gaming – slot review and play for free

The tricky thing for a Megaways game, given their volatility and feature hit rate, is creating a base game good enough to ride out the lulls.

Barring a Bonus Buy that is of course (there isn’t one here).

Dragon’s Fire Megaways uses the more simplified version of Megaways.

The multipliers with each win are there as of course are the Megaways reel sets.

The graphics are fantastic as you’d expect and the game flows really nicely.

The dragon can rouse himself and help you with wins and free spins.

Unfortunately my dragon was sleeping the sleep of a dragon who has recently devoured a whole village of medieval peasants and there was absolutely no waking him.

Symbols and paytable

It’s all about the Dragons of course.

As always don’t dwell on the paytable payouts too much as your max payout for the top symbol is not 5x of course.

You have the potential for that to go up massively when you’re hitting more than 100,000 ways.

Base Game – Dragon’s Fire Megaways

The base game is, well, it’s OK.

Beautiful in terms of graphics and sounds.

The Dragon is brilliantly illustrated and you can almost feel it breathing (or snoring in my case).

If you do get one that’s more alert then it can bring you additional multipliers and symbols and even trigger free spins.

The most interesting feature the Dragon can bring is the Fire Blast wilds.

The Dragon’s fire blast feature can set fire up to 3 reels. Each reel can then reveal up to 4 Wilds per reel.

The Dragon’s Kindness feature can add a qualifying scatter (if you already have 2) to trigger the free spins.

Increasing Multiplier

Each consecutive win  in Dragon’s Fire Megaways gives an additional multiplier on the spin.

The multiplier can be hastened along by the dragon (if you can wake the bloody thing up).

Maximum multiplier is 50x win.

The Dragon’s Eye boost can add an instant 10x multiplier (with the 50 max still holding).

The Free Spins Feature in Dragon’s Fire MegaWays

3 or more scatters (with or without the help of the Dragon) will trigger the free spins round.

You’ll  be rewarded with 7 free spins.

There’s  not much more in the free rounds than you get in the bonus round to be fair, although you’ll likely have a more alert Dragon.

We’re still chasing a big win on this one. Free spins have yielded between 40x and 80x so far.

Dragon’s Fire Megaways – Conclusion

The problem is the base game just isn’t inspiring enough.

The lack of the top bar 4 symbol additions of many Megaways really let’s this down.

The result is a beautiful game, with a fantastic bonus round but a base game that just feels like hard work after a while.
