Base game in Monopoly Megaways

The base game displays the megaways grid on six reels. The Monopoly board is represented beneath that and Mr Monopoly moves along the board according to the number of wins you land.

If you’re new to Megaways (I don’t know perhaps you’re in the US or something) then you’re in for a real treat.

They don’t all work in the same way as Monopoly but the base game wins are the same in all cases.

At the top of the board you see the following features

Monopoly houses selector.

Each win moves you on one space in this, houses are awarded after 3 consecutive wins providing you are on a property on the board. 4 wins will add 2 houses the  the property, 5 wins will add 3 houses, 6 adds 4 and 7 gets you into the free rounds with 5 houses. Provided you are on the right part of the Monopoly board – it’s not easy to trigger this….

This shows how many Megaways are on offer in the current grid setup (Max is 117649).

Stations and Utilities tracker

This will highlight a Train Station or Utility company as you collect them.

These become useful to you when you trigger the free spins. Every station you own and have highlighted will grant you one additional free spin.

Every Utility you own will give you an additional 1x multiplier at the start of your free spins.

Community Chest – Landing on a Community Chest square will grant you a card which will advance you to a property square – it will sometimes add houses too.

Chance – Chance cards can give the same benefit as Community Chest. They can also sometimes trigger free spins or award a Max  Megaways spin.

Monopoly Megaways free rounds.

The free rounds game is triggered when you have 5 houses on a property.

You’ll receive 8 free spins +1 for each Station you own.

You’ll also get an additional multiplier for all your utilities.

As Mr Monopoly moves around the board any properties you land on with houses on it will add the number of houses contained to your multiplier.

It can seem a long time to trigger this but it can be worth it as you get to increase all your modifiers.

Retriggers are activated by landing on train stations – with 3 additional spins each time you land on one.

At the end of your bonus all train stations and utilities are reset – you do get to keep all your properties (apart from those with 5 on already).

Monopoly Megaways – Conclusion.

There’s no doubt that this is an absolutely great game. It’s beautifully designed and constructed.

Big Time Gaming have hit it out of the park.

The game has minor flaws – the fact that you’re not going to trigger the free spins as easily as you could with 4 random scatters is a bit of an issue I think.

That said collecting is profitable when you do trigger and you’re going to get a lot more play time on the way to it than you do with any other Megaways game.

It’s going to smash it. Top ten game in 2020 or I’ll eat one of my many hats.
