Regular Symbols

Time to get the basics out of the way. There are ten regular paying symbols in Slots o Gold Megaways. One huge paying symbol, worth five times more than the green leprechaun hat is, obviously, the pot of gold. You can no doubt find it at the end of the rainbow. However, if that proves to troublesome, give this game a few spins and I am sure you will have found atleast 2 of a kind.

Special Symbols

When it comes to special symbols in Slots o Gold Megaways, there are two of them. First off, we have the Leprechaun which is wild and substitutes for all symbols. When the Leprechaun lands, he will turn the entire reel wild and cause a re-spin. Hit another Leprechaun, and you’ve got another re-spin. He can show up on reels two, three, four and five, so if you are lucky you can land four re-spins in the same spin.

Secondly, there is the mystery symbol, which is called Rainbow Gold and reveals a random symbol when the spin has finished.

Megaways

Slots o Gold Megaways uses the megaways innovation by Big Time Gaming. The slot has six reels, where each reel can show between two and five symbols. Therefore, the maximum amount of Megaways you can get is 15 625 ways to win. This is in contrast to many of the other megaways slots, where the number of way can go upwards of 117 649! However, unlike most other megaways slots, Slots o Gold Megaways offers a “Win both ways” feature, where wins are paid from left to right and from right to left. Payouts are multiplied by stake, as always.

Base Game and The Re-Spin Feature in Slots o Gold MegaWays

The base game in Slots o Gold Megaways is all about getting the re-spins feature. Land a leprechaun on reel two, three, four or five and you are in for a respin with a full reel sticky wild. Land another, and the respin keep going, just like in Starburst by Netent.

Jackpot King in Slots o Gold Megaways

This online slot also features the Jackpot King jackpots from Blueprint Gaming. These are part of a network of jackpots available on many different slots from Blueprint Gaming. Adding these jackpots to the slot takes away some of the RTP, on top of the 95.96% RTP there is an additional 0.38% and 0.11% cost for the jackpots. 0.49% might not seem like a lot. But if the total margin is 4.04%, then another 0.49% makes a difference for the player.

Conclusion of Slots o Gold MegaWays

When it comes to Megaways slots, Slots o Gold Megaways stands out from the pack. It does not have the free spins feature, with increasing multiplier, which is already a minus in our book. However, the rainbow re-spins, which occur quite often, make up for the lack of free spins slightly. In the end, the 15625 ways to win instead of 117 649, combined with the other things, makes us want to pick another slot to play for St Patrick’s Day.

We rate this slot a mere 3.4 out of 5.0. Blueprint did not live up to their other megaways online slots with this one. We have come to expect better work from Blueprint.

Slots o Gold Megaways is not even the best Irish themed Megaways slot. Red Tiger Gaming has that title with their Golden Leprechaun Megaways online slot.
